Coronavirus-COVID-19: Step 01 - The errors of the Italian Government

The Italian government has divided the action against the virus in some steps: Step 0: Wait
Step 1: Actions to contain the virus, as a social distance
Step 2: Try to start again with the economy by reducing restrictions

In this article we're talking about Step 1

Ten behaviors to follow

COVID-19 is a Coronavirus family virus, such as SARS.
It is very similar to SARS even in the way it spreads.

The recommendations made by the Italian Government for months, however, contain errors that have probably decisively facilitated the spread of the virus.

Let's see the main mistakes.

Point 2) Italian Government says: Avoid close contact

(Evita il contatto ravvicinato)
In the Italian language, and not only, "contact" indicates the touching of two bodies (>(from Wikipedia)
Also in common use the contact between two people is at the time when one or more parts of the body or clothes touch each other.
There are also metaphorical interpretations of the term contact, such as "we stay in touch" which can mean feeling by phone or email, but clearly that's not the context.

But the Italian Government in its decalogue wanted to emphasize by contact it meant precisely the physical one, remarking that only "close" contacts can transmit the virus.
For close contacts we can then think of a hug, kisses or other.
There has even been talk of a contact duration of at least 15 minutes for contagion to occur.

This indication has no scientific evidence, as COVID-19, such as SARS, Spanish flu, and many other viruses are transmitted with saliva.
The saliva comes out of the mouth in the form of thousands of droplets when we breathe and especially when we speak, but it also comes out like dissolved steam in the air that we exhale.
So the virus is not only transmitted by contact, but also remotely, through contaminated objects or surfaces, through the air.

Browsing our website you can find all the references to the experiments done, how to propagate, permanence in the air and on objects.

And this has always been known, as a general indication for most epidemics.
In the following image we see how they defended themselves in 1918, using in addition to the distance also the mask.
Nothing new then.

Point 7) Italian Government says: Use mask only if you suspect you are sick

(Usa la mascherina solo se sospetti di essere malato)
There has been a lot of talk about masks, and the WHO has also made a great contribution in creating doubts and uncertainties, stressing and repeating that the mask is useless if you are not sick.

As mentioned, contagion occurs through saliva.
When we speak we emit thousands of droplets of saliva that can reach even a distance of a few meters.
These droplets are deposited on objects that then, if touched by other people, can transmit the virus.
This is the reason why it is recommended to wash hands.

But WHO and the Italian Government have always recommended NOT to put on the mask, at least if you were not sick.
Even today, after three months of the blatant international epidemic, we do not know who and how many are infected.
We've done swabs to a very small percentage of the population and we don't know how many are infected among other people.
How could and how could a person surely consider himself "not infected"?

But even here the Italian Government did not want to leave room for any doubt.
He did not say: the mask is not necessary if you are not sick.
But he said: DON'T use THE MASK IF YOU'RE NOT SICK.

This linguistic difference is very good to achieve the marginalization effect of those who used the mask, cleverly exploited even by several Italian political leaders who ridiculed anyone who cared about the virus.
Basically the government with this sentence managed to spread the idea that the wearer of the mask thought he was sick,
and was therefore a dangerous people.
The government's statement, has been repeated to the obsession by all possible means: you wear the mask only if you are sick, has labeled people with masks as dangerous as infected.
But he also labelled them as infamous scoundrels and thugs because, even though they know they are sick, they go around among the people, instead of addressing 112 or other similar services as required.
So the government used the strategically best words to discourage the use of the mask, to the point where there were cases where people were fired from work for using it.

And even today many members of the Government have not understood that the mask should not be put in the pocket, on the neck, ankle or elsewhere, but must avoid the exit of saliva from the mouth and nose, especially when talking.
In the photo we see a politician who deftly risks infecting the interviewer's microphone and who knows how many other objects.
It is not clear whether this behaviour is aimed at spreading the contagion directly, or indirectly widening it while continuing to demotivate the use of masks.

Point 08: Italian Government says: Received boxes are not dangerous (from China)

(I pacchi ricevuti non sono pericolosi (from China))
I deliberately leave out to comment on the expression MADE IN CHINA.
Perhaps also racist as it is not the fact of being made in China that could make a package dangerous, but rather the fact of coming from China, even if produced elsewhere.

Obsessively it was repeated to wash and disinfect hands. That's right, even if it's not enough.
But if the hands can be infected, it means that the virus gets on your hands somehow.
From where?
Touching infected objects.

So, contrary to what the WHO and the Italian Government have repeatedly said, and reiterated at this point in the decalogue, ALL objects can transmit the virus.
Even the courier who brings the boxe to your home can lose a droplet of saliva falling on the boxe.
Or the boxes of pasta on the shelves of the super market can be infected, because someone touched it just before, or because someone breathed near the box.

So, all the boxes can be infected, regardless of the race or the country of the people who touched them.
As soon as you return home you need to disinfect each boxe, and do so near the entrance so as not to contaminate other areas of the house with infected boxes.

As for the content of the boxes, only in some cases they can be infected, in relation at the time elapsed from packaging.
Find the answers to these and other questions by reading the other posts on our site.
In particular we suggest to read posts that talk about: how not to bring the virus into the house, how to defend yourself in the house, how to eliminate the virus from beds, floors etc.

Understanding the mistakes made in step 1 is essential to make no similarities in step 2, with the risk of falling back into the increase in cases.
