If you are healthy, or maybe in contact with healthy people, you need to use the mask.
The mask prevents your saliva from infecting other people,
and prevents other people's saliva, which is also contained in the air emitted, from contaminating you.
In areas where it is possible that there are infected people, it is advisable to wear the mask.
Remember that even people without symptoms, who do not know they are infected, could infect you.
