Coronavirus-COVID-19: How to change air
Coronavirus-COVID-19, but also bacteria and other types of viruses, are transmitted mainly through the air.
Dust and moisture particles remain suspended in the air of your home, with billions of viruses and bacteria travelling.
In addition to cleaning the house it is therefore important to change the air correctly.
By acting appropriately, you can also reduce the amount of moisture in the air, making it healthier and cleaner.
Even if you have an air conditioning system, it may be appropriate to change the air at least once a day.
Humidity and heating
Many homes have humidity problems, especially in spring and autumn.
Moisture is generated by our bodies during the cooking of food, for drying the laundry.
By opening all the windows, the exchange of air is faster, especially if you are lucky enough to have some windows on one side of the house and others on a different side.
This means that even a light wind leads to internal air currents that change the air quickly.
In five minutes the air changes almost completely, but the walls and furniture do not have time to cool down.
Therefore, when you close the windows the house will quickly return to its original temperature.
This heating causes the air to absorb the humidity of the house, since the air heating up increases its ability to mix with the humidity.
By repeating this operation two or three times a day you will be able to drastically reduce the humidity without losing too much heat, thus avoiding to affect the cost of heating.
It is important to change the air every time it produces humidity.
That is, after cooking and after taking a bath or shower.
Also, change the air as soon as you get up and before bed.
How to generate less humidity
To reduce the creation of moisture when cooked, make a habit of lowering the gas during cooking.
For example, to cook the pasta, keep the gas on high until it boils.
After throwing the pasta, when the water boils again, you can slightly lower the gas and put a lid on it.
Adjust the flame so as to keep the boil and not to escape the foam that is generated.
You will see that the pasta cooks at the same time, as the water always boils at 100 degrees with both high and low gas.
Consumer less gas, and you will produce a very small amount of steam.
Use the same strategy for others kind of food.
To avoid the steam generated during the shower, as well as avoiding making it last too long, you can eliminate the steam after finishing the shower.
To do this, simply open the cold water and move the hand shower to hit all the areas of the air inside the shower box, as well as glass and walls.
The cold water, passing through the humid air, captures the steam which, as it cools, precipitates with the water from the shower. In a few seconds sent assigned the steam from the shower cubicle.
How to defend yourself from smog
If there is black powder, of small and short particles, maybe even oily, it probably comes from smog.
To reduce the amount of smog you breathe you can change the method for the exchange of air.
Air one room at a time for about twenty minutes.
After closing the windows of a room, close the door and not enter the room for about 20-30 minutes, so the smog particles settle.
After this time, slowly enter the room and give a pass with a wet rag on the floor and furniture.
Breathing less smog can reduce the onset of tumors and other ailments.
Disinfection
You may have seen a fly in your house when it's already cold outside.
It means that this fly has resisted your air changes and disinfections.
Maybe not directly, but fly eggs settle somewhere.
As this one resist, there may also be some other small or microorganism specimens that you don't see.
In addition to the described disinfection procedures, it is appropriate to occasionally change the air for a long time so that the house cools down well.
Leave all windows open for a couple of hours in the winter.
The cold disinfects and cleans, only with a long time will also cool spaces such as above and behind the cabinets, behind furniture, etc.
Do this at least one or two times in the year.
Various types of dust
Looking closely at the dust in your home helps you understand how to get rid of it.
- As said smog generally generates very small, almost spherical, very dark dust.
Traffic smog is usually dark and oily.
- Machining smog is drier, like very fine dark sand.
- The smog from cement works is dry and clear. Very dangerous to health because it contains silica.
- Dust from cotton and textile fibers such as sheets and blankets is made up of fine lint, reminiscent of cotton threads.
- The dust from rugs and carpets is like that of cotton, but coarser.
Clearly, exist many types of dust and smog, but by observing it carefully on the deposits on your furniture, you can have some indications on what you can do to reduce or eliminate the problem.
